There Are No Barriers
Leap week. Anyone who has a kid knows about this. Constant touching, constant contact. You would think this would just kill the workout flow, let alone trying to get groceries, go to the bathroom, and well, sleep.
It’s important we work hard to make sure we don’t pile up excuses and let it prevent us from being healthy and strong. I truly believe no matter where you are, what you have, and how little or much time you have – there is time to workout if you want it.
It isn’t even this extreme, “do you want it badly enough” vibe. It’s actually pretty simple, but maybe you just don’t know how to do it. That’s where I come in.
I try my best to get back to clients as quickly as possible, but I will say with at least 24 hrs. ahead of time, I have changed full length gym equipment workouts to home body weight workouts that need to be completed in 15 minutes. Why? Because life happens.
I want my clients to get their burn on, get that workout accomplished and feel confident. If I have to wrap my baby to me and do a last-minute switch to my workout, I can, and do so that I don’t use her as an excuse to let my health fall behind. My wife can do the workout as prescribed because it’s important to her that she can move in ways she was prohibited from moving while pregnant and it’s important I support her in that venture.
Be determined, set goals, and let me do the hard part. I literally just had two clients tell me, ‘I’m traveling next week and need a hotel workout,” “I’m traveling the week of xx and need all the workouts to be bodyweight,” ‘Hey, I’m feeling crappy, but I went and did cardio today, can you please move my workout to tomorrow?” Yes. Yes. Yes. Communication is key to knocking down and completely obliterating barriers, because with Mutch Fitness, there are no excuses.
