Adjusting To Your Fitness Routine Amidst Covid

Hello Everyone,

As we are watching the terror of Covid-19 unfold, I’m sure you’ve had to make many adjustments not only to your personal life, but also with your work life.

Any other circumstance might leave you with excitement to work from home, but this is no vacation. You may find yourself asking, ‘When will return back to normal?’

Everything non-essential is closed. Everything that is non-essential, that many of us felt was very much essential to our daily routine and activities.

Now many of you are working from home, if you aren’t working from home it means your workload has become much more demanding and stressful. I have clients that are first responders or medical professionals, their workload is unknown, and their safety is ultimately put in a more compromising position until we know what is going on in this world. We appreciate you.

My wife, 8 month old daughter, and I are all home, safe, and continuing to work remotely, as we generally do. I’m scoping the internet observing the world go into remote mode. It’s great that with technology today we are able to bring work, education, entertainment, and workouts into the sacred space of our homes.

For regular gym goers, this may be torture. Though it could seem less important than other concerns going on, I know that the gym, for many, is a place to unwind, relax, and feel strong mentally and physically. This achievement is still possible in the comfort of your own home, though the giant mirrored wall to watch those gains take place may be absent as well as the thousands of pounds of iron to toss around. That’s okay! Your gym routine doesn’t need to change or stop, it just needs to be adapted short term until things return back to normal.

Take the time now when you are sitting around to become more active, consistently, and help yourself from going stir crazy. If you’re adjusting to a new normal for now, your fitness might as well become a part of that too!

On the flipside, it’s important for my remote fitness folks to also stay on track, this change can affect everyone, but you’ve already got the home setup, so now is your time to buckle down even more and keep that completion to 100%, there are no excuses!
